With our work we cherish and pay homage to the designs and aspirations of architects, designers, and builders of former times.

project: staircase (before > after)

Some believe each era has its unique and appealing architecture. Some say buildings gain their historic appeal over decades and centuries, and that one "cannot build historic". However, we find modern architecture too sterile, cold, uninviting and little aesthetic. The main reason for this perception may be the dominant materials used: concrete, steel, glass, plastic, as well as the plain design that features very few embellishments, decorations, and ornaments. In fact we argue today's residential architecture lacks details and elegancy.

our approach

Our interior design projects aim not only at preserving and renovating already existing features of historic buildings, but restoring features that were taken away in unsensitive renovations in past decates. Oftentimes we even add historic features and applications that have not been there in the first place, thus enhancing and intensifying the historic appeal and overall architectural impression of the building. Of course we take into consideration the most up-to-date fire safety regulations and living comfort of the residences' inhabitants.
